What is Sip and Paint?

If you've seen friends posting photos of themselves holding a canvas in one hand and a glass of fizz in the other, you've already had a sneak peek. Sip and paint is a unique and fun activity and the idea behind it is simple. You sip a drink, paint a picture and a friendly artist shows you how, one step at a time. The best part? No painting experience is needed and you go home with a painting you made yourself!

We've been running sip and paint workshops since 2017, so we've answered this question more than a few times. Here's everything you need to know before you pick up a brush:

How Does A Sip & Paint Workshop Work?

At Brush & Bubbles, every workshop lasts two hours. Here's how it goes:

  1. Arrive and settle in. We ask everyone to arrive about 10 minutes early, so we can get you seated and ready to go.
  2. Grab your bubbles. A glass of bubbles is included in your ticket. Not drinking? Just ask for a non-alcoholic alternative.
  3. Meet your artist. Your artist will talk you through the painting one step at a time, so you're never left staring at a blank canvas wondering what to do next.
  4. Paint along. Everyone paints the same design, but each canvas ends up looking a little different, and that's half the fun.
  5. Take it home. At the end of the session, your masterpiece is yours to keep. We have frames that you can purchase too if you want to gift your masterpiece or hang it on your wall!

Do I Need To Be Good At Art?

Not at all! Sip and paint is designed for complete beginners. If you haven't picked up a paintbrush since school, you definitely won't be the only one. Our artists break everything down into easy steps, and there's no pressure to create a gallery-worthy piece. The aim is to relax, have a laugh and enjoy the process.

What's Included?

When you book a workshop with us, everything is ready and waiting when you arrive:

  • Canvas
  • Paints and paintbrushes
  • Easel and palette
  • Apron
  • Music
  • Your artist
  • A glass of bubbles

Standard workshops are £49 per ticket, and our limited edition workshops are £55.

What Will I Paint?

Each of our public workshops has its own painting, which you can see when you browse our upcoming workshops. That means you can pick a date based on the design you like best. We also run limited edition workshops throughout the year, such as our Halloween sessions and Christmas bauble painting.

If you're booking a private party, you can choose from our portfolio of paintings or work with us on a custom design. Hen parties can even book a ‘Paint the Bride/Groom’ session!

Who Goes To Sip & Paint?

All sorts of people! It works brilliantly for:

There's no age requirement for our workshops, but our paints aren't poster paints, so they're not suitable for very small children. Anyone under 18 needs to be supervised by an adult.

What Should I Wear?

We'll give you an apron, but acrylic paint can be stubborn, so maybe don't wear your favourite white top. Comfy clothes you don't mind getting a splash of colour on are ideal.

Can I Bring My Own Food or Drink?

We kindly ask that you don't bring your own food or alcohol. Extra drinks and snacks are available to buy during the workshop, so you won't go thirsty.

Ready To Give It A Go?

Our workshops take place in our pastel studio in Covent Garden, tucked down Goodwin's Court and just a few minutes' walk from Leicester Square. Take a look at our upcoming workshops and grab your spot.

Can't make it to London? Our DIY art kits bring the sip and paint experience to your door, with step-by-step tutorials to follow along at home.
